The CROWLEY is a collaboration with legendary DJ, presenter and all round dapper gent – GARY CROWLEY.
Gary has been a figure on the London music scene throughout his career, working at Decca Records & the NME, and at the tender age of 19 Gary became the UK’s youngest DJ on Capital Radio.
TV presenting soon followed with Saturday morning ITV show Fun Factory and Poparound which ran in the 1980’s. The Beat was a post pub ITV show in the 90’s and in 2008 he presented on Rockworld TV.
Having enjoyed hosting shows on Greater London Radio, XFM and BBC 6Music, Gary can currently be found on BBC London (94.9 FM) – 6 til 9pm – playing the best in Classic & New Music, and also on Soho Radio (89.8 FM) – Tues 4 til 6pm – presenting ‘Gary Crowley’s Punk & New Wave Show”.
As well as his love for music Gary also keeps a close eye on fashion. We at DJ are well aware of this, so in 2012 we invited Gary to design his ultimate Desert Boot. Putting our heads together Gary was keen to stipulate a simple upper pattern, good quality materials and of course a real crepe sole. All of which was complemented by crimson laces and matching leather linings.
THE CROWLEY was launched to instant success and is one of our most popular styles ever. The Desert Boot is still available in the original suede specification, but leather, corded suede and nubuck versions have since been developed. By also offering some seasonal colour variations this DJ classic well and truly lives on … long live THE CROWLEY!
